Get rid of those unwanted hair permanently. At GVG, we use cosmetic LASERs including Nd-YAG 1064nm wavelength & IPL systems that is most effective and safe way to remove hairs particularly on Indian skin type. This Laser gives very good results in cases of hirsutism i.e, Thick and dark hairs present at unwanted areas in females. It can also be used in cases of ingrown hair of beard area. Another method used is the IPL or the Intense Pulsed Light System where a light in a specific spectrum targets the growing hair follicles. Both treatments require multiple sittings depending on the density of hair, texture and number of hairs and any underlying hormonal abnormalities. Our dermatologists effectively manage the hormonal imbalance and help you in getting the maximum benefit from the lasers. Areas dealt with are

What are the side effects?
The common short-term side effects (swelling and redness) are a result of the laser's heat. Lasers are equipped with skin-cooling devices, but if you find that your skin is especially sensitive, an anesthetic cream can be applied before treatment. A cool-pack can also be used after treatments to reduce pain. In Dr GVG Aesthetic Clinics, a test is conducted on a small area to see how your skin reacts to treatment 48 hours before beginning a full treatment. Long-term, negative side effects of laser hair removal are rare. If you're still wary, you might want to speak with a healthcare provider about your specific circumstances and try a small area first to see how your skin reacts.
What are the chances of getting the hair back?
The number of sessions required to reduce or eliminate hair on the body varies from patient to patient and hair growth can be influenced by a wide range of factors. Factors can include your body's natural hair growth life cycle, your skin colour and also any underlying medical conditions such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) or any other hormonal imbalances you may have.
The biggest factor in determining how many treatment sessions you will require is the colour of your skin. Essentially the laser needs to selectively target the pigment within the hair follicle without being absorbed too much by the surrounding skin. If too much of the laser energy gets absorbed by the surrounding skin then it can cause discomfort and irritation to the skin and also increases the risk of side-effects. This is the main reason why we can't treat patients who have recently had large amounts of sun-exposure, since any additional pigment (melanin) present in the surrounding skin increases the risk of side-effects.
Patients with darker skin can still be treated effectively and safely, but the laser settings need to be slightly lower and you will generally require a few more sessions in a course of treatment.
How many sittings are needed?
Multiple sessions are required due to the natural growth lifecycle that hair follows. All of the hairs on your body follow a growth life cycle which consists of a growth phase, a transition phase and a resting phase, before the hair eventually falls out and growth starts again.
Shall I come after waxing/threading for the treatment?
Hair removal should not be done prior to the laser treatment. The hair should be left as they are for the doctor to inspect. The course of the treatment is determined by the quality of the new hair.
